The world’s largest finance company, Citigroup, has confirmed that it is to create 375 jobs in Belfast over the next five years. The US-owned company is establishing a “technology centre of excellence”. The development is being backed by Invest NI which is contributing more than 7m towards the . Invest NI said the project would bring some 65m into the local economy over the next few years. Citigroup, which has interests in banking, investment and insurance, operates in 100 countries around the world. It employs about 300,000 people worldwide and looks offshore to invest in its back office operations such as IT and call centres. It currently has about 9,000 employees in the UK and 1,000 in Ireland. |
